Five Sets of Keys
Five sets of keys. Five doors. Five families stepping across the threshold into something that changes everything.
Over the past several weeks, we had the profound honor of celebrating five home dedication ceremonies with our incredible partners at Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity.
Through the Welcome Home Ohio program, five properties were given new life — fully renovated and sold to first-time homeowners who earned every square foot through their own sweat equity and sheer determination.
At these dedications, we were joined by Treasurer Lindsay Webb, Commissioner Pete Gerken, and Commissioner Lisa Sobecki, who had the privilege of placing keys directly into the hands of our new homeowners. There is simply no better use of a public official's time.
And at our final dedication, the full Land Bank and Habitat team came together to mark what we had accomplished together. Five futures transformed. Five people lifted off a waiting list of hundreds who are still hoping for their moment.
We know that homeownership is one of the most powerful engines of stability and prosperity available to families. Every one of these dedications was a reminder of why we do this work, and why partnerships like this one matter so deeply.
To the entire Habitat for Humanity team: thank you. Thank you for your collaborative spirit, your compassion, and your commitment to making this partnership something truly special. We could not be prouder to call you our partners.
