Building Balance

July 1, 2024 Announcements

The Land Bank doesn't work without the passion and commitment of our team.

Public service is a challenging, but rewarding profession. Our mission at the Land Bank is broad. We regularly confront problems that are generations in the making. In a perfect world, we'd easily turn those problems into opportunities. But alas, the world is not perfect, and making progress requires much perseverance. Without the proper support, the issues we confront can be all-consuming.

The Land Bank works because of its people -- people with families, pets, hobbies, and lives outside of work. No one can give 100% to their job if they do not have a meaningful chance to unwind, de-stress, and participate in the bigger world.

To support a stronger work-life balance, the Land Bank team is adjusting our public schedule effective July 1, 2024. While we will be working the same amount of time on behalf of Lucas County residents and their neighborhoods, we will be doing so with different hours.

Our office will be open Monday through Thursday from 8:30a to 4:30p, as has always been true. On Fridays, our office will now close at 12:30p.Of course, we are open for drop-in visitors and scheduled appointments for all posted hours.

After the coronavirus pandemic, we've found that many of our most engaged applicants and residents reach out to us by website, email, and phone first. Because of this, we do not believe these changes will disrupt to our operations, and we appreciate your understanding as we move forward.

A well-rested, supported Land Bank team can give 100% of their energy to our community while at work. If you have any questions about this change, please feel free to contact us at the link below.
